Synopsis

The mandela catalogue is a analogue horror series made by Alex Kister. The series is about entities that take the form of humans and use psicological torture to get their victims to kill themselves. The entities known as alternates can manipulate audiovisual media to misslead their victims.

The religious subplot

The prelude of the series starts as a semingly normal kid´s cartoon about the birth of Christ but we quickly realise something isn´t right. The angel gabriel is a prominent figure that frequently appears as a powerfull one that has existed since the begining of the world. This entity took the apearence of the angel and has used it to fool Mary and Joseph.

The main plot

The goverment tried to produce tapes that helped people deal with encounters, however they lied so that they wouldn´t reveal that there is nothing they can do. Amidst all the chaos, a group of highschoolers founded the Bythorne Paranormal Society to pretend to help people with paranormal activity, but it´s founder seems to be misteriously imune to the alternate´s influence.

Interactive question

The Mandela Catalogue has destinguished itself from other series from the lack of repetitive jumpscares and from its analogue feeling making it feel like a lost tape. The series is also free to watch and takes it´s time to set up the creepy mood. By the end we are left with more questions than answers, wich is impressive seeing how it was made by one person with no budget.
