What happens when collecting data?

To discover which designs work best, watch what people actually do while interacting with the interface, do not believe what they say they do, and of course do not believe what they predict they may do.

Conduct formal testing and ask users to fill out a survey at the end.

In answering questions, people bend the truth to be closer to what they think you want to hear. In telling you what they do, people are really telling you what they remember doing. In reporting what they do remember, people rationalize their behavior.
