SLOT 3: DISCOVER CASE-BASED SIMULATION

Case-based Simulation (CBS) is an established approach used across disciplines where students:

  • Apply their knowledge to real-world scenarios
  • Promoting higher levels of cognition (see Bloom’s Taxonomy)
  • Trigger thinking skills
  • Trigger Problem solving skills

Step 4

Don't give up easily

SLOT 4: Develop case-based simulation based on your course learning outcomes

students need to solve issues or problems in cases

to understand a situation and get empathy from the student of the character's conversation to oneself and other characters is needed in the case. So the storytelling journey of the case can be real,

create an issue so that it becomes a discussion material and challenge the student's thinking

cases should create a sense of empathy for the character traits created

The created case must look at the real situations that occur in life. So it needs to contain the drama and the problems posed in storytelling.

cases contain storytelling plots related to the student's experience or knowledge

the case created must be related to the learning experience and knowledge that the student has and is learning

this means that cases have certain functions such as challenging students' thinking, fact-containing storytelling allows students to link what is learned with case situations
