What's Halloween?

Halloween is a celebration observed in many countries on October 31st, the eve of the Western Christian festival of All Saints' Day.

How did Halloween come about?

Halloween originates from a Celtic festival called Samhain. Studies carried out by historians indicate that Halloween probably arose from a festival practiced by the Celts, a people who inhabited the British Isles and who practiced a pagan religion centuries before the penetration of Christianity in the region.

This date is celebrated with parties where people go dressed up as monsters, macabre or just unusual characters. Its main practice involves children dressing up and going door to door asking people for sweets. It originates from practices of the Celts in the British Isles.
