They arrive from north-western Germany. They were tribes of warriors and hunters, fisherman and metal worker.

THE ROMANS

In 55 BC Julius Caesar invaded Britain, but the real conquest began under Emperor Claudius. The Romans built the Hadrian's Wall constracted as a defensive barrier.

THE ANGLO-SAXONS

The Angles, Saxons and Jutes were Germanic tribes. They were farmers and they lived in wooden houses. The dialects spoken by the different tribes became known as Old English.

FROM THE HEPTARCHY TO THE NORMAN CONQUEST

After the Anglo-Saxon invasion, Britain was divides into several kingdoms. They were called Heptarchy. Althought between 8th and 9th centuries arrived new enemys: the Vikings who settled in the country.The norman were Vikings who settled in northern France.
