The Haunted Bookshop

The Haunted Bookshop is in a quiet street in Cambridge. Over the last ten years, a female ghost has started to haunt the stairs of the bookshop, smelling of violets. Many people think she is connected to the alehouse and its violent history that existed before the bookshop. So, go along and browse the bookshelves if you dare!

St Briavels Castle is widely considered as one of the most haunted castles in England . Muncaster Castle

Muncaster is one of Britain’s most haunted castles of England. The spirit of Tom the Fool plays tricks on family, staff and visitors. Visitors are disturbed during the night, they hear footsteps outside in the corridor, they see the door handle turning and the door opening but nobody is there. A child is frequently heard crying and sometimes a lady is heard singing. Visitors have also felt cold in the room for no apparent reason. A White Lady apparently haunts the garden. Whitby Abbey

In the ruins of this Abbey, you may see the spectre of St Hilda watching from a window, or you may hear the screams of Constance de Beverley, a nun who was bricked up in the dungeon. Next to the Abbey, legend has it that a ghostly coach plunges over the cliff edge on its way to the church. The ruins of Whitby Abbey inspired Bram Stoker to write the story of Dracula. Bardsey Island

On this island in Wales, there was a monastery, so it is said to be the burial site of 20 000 saints. Some believe it’s the location where King Arthur is buried, while others believe it’s a burial site for a great number of monks. This could explain the ghosts of robed figures said to haunt the island…

Eyam Village

Eyam Village is famous for the plague, which killed many people in 1665. So it’s no surprise this place has many ghost stories. There is a large number of ghostly sightings in Eyam. At the pub, people have heard footsteps and experienced some strange things in the bedrooms. Some guests have even left in the middle of the night because they were really scared. One of the cottages is haunted by a lady who wears a blue smock. She is reported to wake people up in the middle of the night. Fancy a ghost hunt ?

Loch Coruisk is reputed to be the home of a "Kelpie" or water horse.They are spirits that live in the lochs (lakes of Scotland) and that can change their form. They can appear under a human form but they still keep their hooves.
