Why I chose this film?

I chose this film because it was the first movie I saw in English. This happened because I heard about this film before it came out, and when it was released it was only in English. I was so excited about the movie, so I watched it in english with Italian subtitles.I really liked it because it's based on a true story and it talks about something that isn't far from us, it happens every day that at least one woman is raped and no one believes her, because for people maybe she just wants attention or whatever. But this is a real and sad problem.

The plot:

Lisa had been abused her whole life by her grandfather. After a night shift at the donut shop a man kidnapped her. She was scared, but she kept calm and tried to remember everything she could see, even if he closed her eyes with a bandage. He brought her to an isolated apartment. Here he abused of her and tried to kill her when she tried to trick him and escape. Lisa was clever and she made him tought that she loved him and that she wasn't a minor, because she wanted to survive. One day the man wanted to kill her, but in the end he left her under a tree. She ran home and told her grandparents everything, but they didn't believe her, and the police too. The only one who believed her was Detective Pinkerton. Lisa told him about her grandad's abuses, and he arrested him. Then she helped him with all the details she remembered and the detective understood that the serial killer they were searching for and her abuser were the same person, so in the end, thanks to her, they found him and arrested him. After that, Lisa went to live the life she dreamed about at her aunt and uncle's house.
