The Plot

Checco finds himself in the african savannah and he has been captured by a local tribe. Their leader asks him to tell them about his life, so that he can decide if he is worthy to be freed. Checco was born into privilege in a small Italian town with a guaranteed job (posto fisso) as a public servant. When a new reformist government vows to cut down on bureaucracy, Checco is forced to accept worsening conditions. Eventually he gets sent to an Italian arctic research station in Norway, as a hunter who protects the research team. Here he meets Valeria, the scientist he's going to work with, and he falls in love with her.
