Routines for practical lessons

Prior to practical start: • Hang blazer outside on the hooks • Tie long hair up, put apron on and wash your hands throughly • Collect equipment and leave them neatly at your station

Dropping off ingredients: • Leave ingredients in your practical room between 8.30-8.45am • Please have ingredients weighted correctly, with your name clearly on • The fridges are labelled according to order of practical class e.g. the fridge for the first practical of the day is labelled ‘Lesson 1.’ Please ensure you put your ingredients in the right place

Washing up reminders: • Split tasks evenly e.g. One wash, one dry, one wipe down • Stack dirty dishes at the back of the sink • Remove any food from sink plug hole • At the very end spray down surfaces with anti-bacterial spray • Place wash cloths and tea towels in the wash basket • Equipment must be checked by the teacher or technician before they are put away

After teacher instructions: • Put ingredients onto white trays • Remove any plastic bags or containers from table • Only have container out that you are putting your finished product in

Remember: Put your name on baking paper to ensure you take home the right food

At end of practical: • Put food into a container and leave on the trolley at the front of the room THE CONTAINER MUST HAVE YOUR NAME CLEARLY ON IT • The class teacher will put this into the fridge and you can collect this at the end of the day
