Function Families
Functions belonging to the same family share important characteristics. The parent function is the most basic function in a family. Functions in the same family are transformations of the parent function.
The constant function family is all horizontal line graphs with zero slope. The linear function family is all straight line graphs with a slope other than zero. The quadratic function family is all parabolas with vertical ends (up or down).
