Salvēte!

Salvē! Mihī nōmen est Lūcia. Quid est nōmen tibi?

Salvē, Lūcia! Mihi nōmen est Melissa. Habitō Romae. Ubī habitās? Habitāsne Romae?

Minimē! Nōn habitō Romae. Mea familia orta est in Latiō. Valet tua familia?

Mea familia valet. Et tua?

Don't forget: "Salvē" is singular; "Salvēte" is plural--same for "Valē and "Valēte."

Mea familia quōque valet. Grātiās! Valē!

Nota Bene:
  • You use the vocative case for direct address. The feminine is the same as the nominative, but the masculine will have an "e" instead of a "us" ending.
  • With my and your "nōmen est" you use "mihi" and "tibi".

NOUNS

What do we know?

nouns have number

nouns have gender

Nouns decline

We have learned about the nominative, locative, accusative, and ablative cases in the 1st and 2nd declensions

Nouns are either singular or plural

Every noun is masculine, feminine, or neuter(Possessive pronouns agree with the nouns they modify, ie. mea māter/meus pater.)

VERBS

Infinitives are also verb forms. We have used complelmentary infinitives to talk about what you like or want TO do.

We have looked at three of the four verb conjugations in the present, largely 1st. 2nd, and 3rd person singular forms, as well as the irregular esse.
