Text Narrative
The Lost Dog
It was a dark and stormy night. The rain was pouring down, and the wind was howling. A small dog was lost in the woods. He was scared and alone. He didn't know where he was, or how to get home.
The dog wandered through the woods for hours, trying to find his way. He was tired and hungry. He was starting to lose hope.
Suddenly, he saw a light in the distance. He ran towards it, and soon he came to a small house. He barked at the door, and a woman opened it.
The woman was surprised to see the dog. She took him inside and gave him some food and water. The dog was so grateful. He licked the woman's face and wagged his tail.
The woman decided to keep the dog. She named him Lucky. Lucky was so happy to have a home. He lived with the woman for many years, and they were best friends.
Where is the narrative?
The narrative is in the first two sentences. The first sentence introduces the setting and the conflict. The second sentence introduces the protagonist and the inciting incident.
