Pop Music is a genre of popular music that dates back to the 1950s as a derivation of Rock n' Roll. In fact, it was from the 1950s that pop music began its rise in the history of music. Born in the Anglo-Saxon world (the United States and the United Kingdom above all) and then arriving in Europe and the rest of the world,pop music became the expression of the youth culture of the time, thanks also to the first major concerts, events and visibility given by the passage on radio and above all in television programs. Surely, one cannot help but reference the Beatles. The Liverpool four, in fact, constituted a real mass phenomenon. Their songs immediately climbed to the top of the charts and reached every part of the world. A music that certainly derived from rock and rock 'n' roll, but from which it differed in several aspects.

POP MUSIC

the term "pop" comes from the abbreviation of the word "popular" to refer to the music that is generally liked in the modern era. Pop music is characterized by a relatively simple, catchy and in some cases schematic language, therefore it is the most successful genre in the commercial diffusion circuit in the world with recordings, videos,festivals, concert-shows, television and radio broadcasts and networks . Today, pop means more generally a style, characterized by its immediate accessibility, its ability to appeal to a very large audience, and, consequently, by its easy consumption. Perhaps more than any other genre, pop music is capable of arousing strong emotional reactions in those who listen to it, easily recognizable and in which any person can find a piece of their personal history.

POP MUSIC AND ARTISTS

As mentioned, special merit in having spread this genre must be given to the Beatles, around whom an almost real cult was born in the 1960s. Going further in time, we need to focus on what was probably the true king of pop: Michael Jackson. African-American artist, who between the Seventies and Nineties, climbed to the top of the charts, establishing himself first as the pop star of the moment, but then as a legend in the history of music. LANA: POP OR NO?

When people hear "pop genre"they immediatly think of a rhythmic and happy song, confusing it with the hip-pop genre, but in reality pop includes different types of music. Lana Del Rey sings more melodic, nostalgic, sensual or sad songs... she rarely present rhythmic song.
