Activity

In this activity through the game we will get to know which are the 7 forms of art that we will deal with in our eTwinning program: The Art Voice of Culture On a cardboard we will create a track with squares on which we will place the cards with the 7 art forms in different places. Children randomly pressing the button from the wordwall app (in which we have created an arts wheel) will see which card they need to be guided to and think about what they need to do and which arrows to use to get to the correct card. Older toddlers, who may have practiced coding, can be asked to find the shortest path to the goal. The track can also be drawn on the ground (in the classroom with tape or in the yard with chalks) and the children, in pairs, will try to complete their mission. One child will be the robot and the other child will be the guide, who with appropriate instructions will guide the robot to the goal. (To complete this activity cards with the art forms and darts will be printed in a larger size. ) In order for the child-robot to move forward, the driver will tap it lightly on the back. Every hit will also mean a step. For a right turn, the right arm will hit, while for a left turn, the left arm. To move in reverse, he will tap the forehead as many steps as he wants to take. When he reaches his goal he touches both hands in attention. (Moves may vary and children in each school may decide on different moves to reach their goal.) The activity is completed after all missions have been completed. Collaborating schools will post their actions in a collaborative presentation on genially. Editing link will be shared with affiliate members.

In our class, students learned the binary code by writing our project name. It was a fantastic activity and all the students were delighted!

When we think about helping kids to learn computer coding, we automatically think we need a computer first. But in fact, there are many ways to learn computer coding without a computer.

Coding is the language programmers use to make technologies like computers and robots do what they need them to do.
