ING

When we make sentences in the Present Continuous, we always use the verb TO BE and the main verb is always in the -ing form

Affirmative

I am playing You are playing He is playing She is playing It is playing We are playing You are playing They are playing

Negative

I am not playing You are not playing He is not playing She is not playing It is not playing We are not playing You are not playing They are not playing

Interrogative

Am I playing? Are you playing? Is he playing? Is she playing? Is it playing? Are we playing? Are you playing? Are they playing?

REMEMBER

When the verb has one syllable and finishes with one consonant preceded by one vowel, WE DOUBLE THE CONSONANT sit - sitting swim - swimming

When the verb finishes with -E, we take it out and add -ING dance - dancing

When the verb finishes with -y, we simply add -ING play - playing study - studying

EXCEPIiONS: travelling

TIME EXPRESSIONS WITH THE PRESENT CONTINUOUS

We use the expressions: NOW AT THE MOMENT because we use the Present Continuous to describe actions that are happening at the same time we are speaking
