Florence Nightingale

Even today, doctors and nurses use the safety methods developed by Florence Nightingale.

Her courage and commitment in a field previously reserved for men paved the way for many women to enter the profession.

The Crimean War (1853-1856) = This was a decisive period in her life and career.

This gave her the opportunity to create the Nightingale Fund in 1855, dedicated to the training of nurses.

The Nightingale Fund enabled her to open the Nightingale Training School
