On the other hand, we have in the same classroom the student named Pedro, of Spanish nationality. His school process has been constant but not of quality, presenting many problems with the grammar of the English language. Unlike Cindy, Pedro is accepted into the group especially by the girls, who are willing to work in a group with him and more interested in knowing his culture.
In my classroom there is a girl named Cindy of Venezuelan nationality. Due to her migrant status, it is difficult for her to integrate into the group because of her accent and slang. She has low participation in English class and working in a group is difficult for her because classmates are not very collaborative.
SOCIOLINGUISTICS
Sociolinguistics is an approach or perspective of study that is characterized by interpreting acquisition as a social process in which communicative interaction is decisive and by interpreting language as an essentially variable entity conditioned by social and situational factors.

Mainstreamed ESL Students: Identity,

We can see in this case, the difficulty of adaptation of one of the children, by ideologies and identity, which is affected by the accent and social background. Although Pedro is also a foreign child, with another culture, another accent and another social background, he is accepted in the classroom and has no problems integrating.

Know the culture of the child.
Know the level of children's language proficiency
Knowing the child's culture will allow me to be more effective in teaching and create a more inclusive and respectful learning environment.

Level tests, classroom observation and informal conversations. Adapt my classes to your needs.
Games, songs, stories and interactive activities. Select materials that reflect the reality of children.
