Major Event
At the start of this period, a mass extinction occurred. This affected about 76% of species. The Jurassic Period is otherwise known as the golden age of the dinosours. These dinosours evolved to be enourmous, while mammals at the time were known to be small.
The Jurassic Period took place during the Mesozoic Era and lasted about 56 million years. The world started to further drastically change during this point in time. Pangea had just split apart, and volcanic activty was intensified. The climate was known to be warm and humid due to new the new oceans being formed between the continents.
Interesting Facts
1. The first brids appeared. They were known as Archaeoptery.2. Some of the oldest fossils from squamates were found (Bolet) 3 Theropod dinosaurs were the most dominant predators (Novas) 4. The dinosaur "Aysén" was disovered (Novas).
