Triassic Period

Major Events
What was it Like?
The Triassic period like many, ended in a mass extinction due to a cataclysmic event. How this mass extinction occured is not entirely known 100%, however researchers have been able to infer that roughly 201 million years ago pangea began to seperate and spread out causing massive volcanic activity which supposedly wiped out the majority of marine life and fauna. This mass extinction marked the end of the Triassic period and gave birth to the age of the dinosaurs in the Jurassic period.
The Climate of the Triassic period was very dry and hot, both poles of Earth were moist and warm allowing for forests and reptiles to inhabit them. Marine life flourished during this time with many new species of fish predators showing up. Marine fauna was abundant and many smaller plants were becoming popular on land. The Triassic period was known as the start of the age of the dinosaurs.
