Lobes

Tempor Labore

Parietal Lobe
  1. Parietal lobe - Receiving and processing sensory input - touch, temperature (hot and cold), pressure, vibration and pain - and location awareness.
  2. Occipital lobe - Visual processing, depth, color, processing info from eyes
  3. Temporal lobe - Auditory information, memory, emotion
  4. Frontal lobe - Executive functions - language, movement, thinking, problem-solving

Tempor Labore

Frontal Lobe
Occipital Lobe

Tempor Labore

Cerebellum
Temporal Lobe

Personal Examples

  • Parietal Lobe - I see a desk, blackboard, and textbooks, and process that I am in a school.
  • Occipital Lobe - I see blue cursive and understand it to be English writing in blue ink.
  • Frontal Lobe - Staying at a school desk without moving or distracting the class.
  • Temporal Lobe -Wernicke's area - When I use grammar to speak with someone.

Personal Examples

  • Prefrontal cortex - When I make New Year's Resolutions.
  • Cerebral cortex - Using problem-solving skills to solve a math problem
  • Corpus callosum - Like crossing a bridge to deliever info, sending mail
  • Hypothalamus - Tells me to drink when I am thirsty and want sweet tea.

Structures of the Brain

Hypothalamus
Cerebral cortex
Prefrontal Cortex
Corpus callosum
  • Prefrontal cortex - supervising, execute functions, thinking, future planning
  • Cerebral cortex - higher-level processes, personality, grey matter
  • Corpus callosum - transmits info from one side to another
  • Hypothalamus - coordinating center, hormones, sexual behavior
Thalamus
Pons
Pituitary Gland
Medulla
Cerebellum
Amygdala
Hippocampus
Brain Stem

Structures of the Brain Pt. 2

  • Thalamus - Relaying motor and sensory signals to cerebral cortex, regulates sleep and eating
  • Cerebellum - voluntary movement, walking, coordination, posture
  • Hippocampus - Long-term memory, retreival
  • Brain Stem - Vital functions of life - breathing, blood pressure, heart rate, connects brain to spinal cord
  • Amygdala - endocrine, emotional processing, fear, aggression
  • Medulla - Heartbeat, digestion, respiration, connects brain to stem and rest of body
  • Pons - Pain and facial sensations
  • Pituitary Gland - Endocrine, growth, metabolism, hormones

Tempor Labo

Personal Examples

  • Thalamus - Relays a video clip with sound to my temporal lobe.
  • Cerebellum - Learning how to ride my tricycle down the hill.
  • Hippocampus - Memorizing AP Psych definitions for the tests
  • Brain Stem - Regulates my sleep cycles, in which I always have strange dreams.
  • Amygdala -Spiders are creepy and disgusting = fear when seeing one
  • Medulla - Maintaining balance while walking
  • Pons - Helps regulate my facial muscles for expressions
  • Pituitary Gland - Growing to a nice height of 4'11" / 150 cm :)))))))))))) :D
