Saigon

Saigon was South Vietnam's capital until it was captured by the North Vietnamese on April 30, 1975. The North renamed Saigon to Ho Chi Minh City after the conclusion of the war.
Hanoi was the capital of North Vietnam and after the war, it became the capital of the newly united Vietnam.
