Federal work study part 2

What is it?

Undergraduate and graduate students can be granted job opportunities to work either on or off campus while enrolled full-time at Peabody. You’ll earn at least the current minimum wage for your position and can work up to 20 hours per week. The nature of the work may influence the pay rate due to the type of work you do and the skills required for the position.

things to note

  • The amount of federal work study funding allocated to a student may fluctuate based on additional financial aid received or requested.
    • If a student receives financial aid from external sources, their federal work study allocation could decrease.
    • Students can also request an increase in federal work study funding if additional funds are available at that time.
  • Graduate or professional students, are paid by the hour or by salary, depending on the work you do.

You're Hired! Next Steps:

01

steps for you

  • As a new hire, you will be required to complete a federal I-9 Form for employment eligibility verification. The process will be as follows:
    • You will receive an email with instructions for completing Section 1 of the I-9 Form. Please complete this section and submit it promptly.
    • After you successfully submit Section 1, you will be prompted to schedule an in-person appointment at one of our HR locations. This appointment is to complete Section 2 of the I-9 Form.
      • You can make an appointment on the Peabody campus to finish the I-9 process with HR. This must be completed within 3 days of your official start date.
    • Bring acceptable documents that establish your identity and employment authorization (as outlined on the I-9 Form) to the appointment. The HR representative will review your documents and complete Section 2.
    • Once Sections 1 and 2 are finalized, your I-9 Form will be processed and employment can begin. Reach out with any questions about this required process. We look forward to having you on board!
