The Transantarctic Mountains are a mountain range located on the continent of Antarctica and extend around 2,200 miles long form Victoria Land to the Weddell Sea. Its highest peak, Mount Kirkpatrick, is 14,856 feet tall. Due to its severe environment, its biological life is limited to bacteria, lichens, algae, and fungi.
