Since she was a child Amelia Earhart loved flying. She played with her sister at this game for feeling the thrill of flying. During her chilwood and adolesence not everything went well and she had to move from city to city and from school to school. In 1916 Amelia started the college near Philadelphia but then she decided to become a nurse. One day she went to an air show as a spectator; she risked an accident but on this occasion she started to love planes and flying so much that she convinced her parents to do her let her do her first flight as a passenger. After that she took flying lesson with a woman pilot and became better and better. From that point on nobody could stop her: she bought her first plane and she broke the women altitude record. She changed job and when Captain Riley proposed her to be the first woman flight across the Atlantic, she accepted. For this occasion she met George Putnam in New York. She flew with other two men pilots the Atlantic and she had so much success. Then she wanted to break another record: flying first the Atlantic and after the Pacific alone, but before she founded the Ninety-Nines and married George Putnam. In 1935 she won an important award for her flights and records. But she wanted more, so she left her husband and with the plane Electra started a new adventure: this time she wanted to cross the Atlantic and the Pacific oceans in a singole flight. Not everything went as she had planned: almost at the end of this flight she desappeared and she is still missing with her plane today. A great unsolved mystery!

Courage is the price that life demands to ensurepeace. The soul that does not know it, does not know. Relief from small thing, knows only the livid lonieliness of fear

Some of us have big runways built for us. If you have one, take off! But if you don't, realize that it's your responsability to take a shovel and build one yourself, for yourself and for those who follow after you
