Both Cole and Hannah are passionate about a sport and want to do well at it. But Hannah wants to prove herself to a team that has never had a girl on it before. In the text it states "she clearly wasn't messing around. As usual she had brought her own ball." Cole wants his former friend, Monique, to stop beins o hard on him when he makes mistakes during practice. In the text it states "fellow students were supposed to help one another...Normally, he didn't mind it; after all he helped others as mush as they helped him. But there was something about the way Monique did it that just drove him nuts."
