Si verificano quando un organismo viene ricoperto rapidamente da sedimenti.

Sono impronte di animali e piante lasciate nel fango. Il fango si indurisce diventando roccia.

Come avviene la fossilizzazione di un animale?

1. Un animale muore

2. Con il passare del tempo le parti molli si consumano.

3. Le parti dure (ossa e denti) vengono ricoperte di fango o sabbia.

4. Con il passare del tempo (milioni di anni) le ossa si mineralizzano (grazie al passaggio di minerali) e si induriscono
