The Rehabilitation Act was established in 1973. The most crucial law for special needs education is Section 504. This law shields qualified people from being discriminated against because of their impairments. Businesses and organizations are banned under Section 504 from denying or denying an equal opportunity to program benefits and services to people with disabilities. The No Child Left Behind Act was established in 2002. In order to hold schools accountable for how students learned and performed in school, this act was developed and eventually became the primary statute for K–12 general education in the U.S. This law is significant for both general education and special education. It makes it possible for kids and families who can't afford school to still be able to educate their kids.
