1. ryuk

Ryuk is a Shinigami who got tired of the monotonous and boring activity of the Shinigami World, and would look for an unforgettable experience, for this, he would drop his Death Note somewhere in the Human World, a notebook that would be picked up by a student named Light Yagami, who would decide to use the free one to clean the world. Ryuk would accompany Light, being the spectator of the intellectual battle between Light and the mysterious detective L.

Light Yagami is the main character of Death Note. He is a student who happens to see the Death Note fall, when he discovers what it is and what it is for, he decides to become the god of the new world by dedicating himself to purge criminals, which causes all the highest security spheres (FBI, Interpol...) to start an investigation against him. After starting his purge, his followers nickname him "Kira" (from the Japanese pronunciation of the English word killer, "killer"), because he does not make himself known to be safe. Later, even the police end up calling him that.

Lawliet, also known as L, is the mysterious detective whose mission is to catch Kira. Although his face and name are initially unknown, throughout the series he ends up introducing himself to other characters, thus revealing his strange personality and thus becoming one of the most important characters of the series and one of the most acclaimed by the audience.
