Our bodies need energy for our daily activities and for repair. We get energy from food. All food contains nutrients.

1.NUTRIENTS

Carbohydrates and fatsThey give our body energy.

ProteinsThey make our muscle stronger.

Vitamins and mineralsThey help prevent illness.

2.A BALANCED DIET

We need to consume many different types of nutrients to be strong and healthy. A balanced diet contains: proteins, vitamins, minerals, carbohydrates, fats, and of course, water.

3. THE FOOD PYRAMID

Using the food pyramid helps us maintain a balanced diet.

4.TIPS FOR HEALTHY EATING

  • Avoid eating an excess of fats
  • Eat five times a day: breakfast, lunch, dinner and a piece of fruit.
  • Eat the correct quantity of food for your body.
  • Always eat breakfast.
