1. What is graffiti?
Graffiti
- We call graffiti visual street art that is often done within urban spaces: walls, gates, abandoned buildings, billboards…
Graffiti
- The term comes from Italy (Roman Empire) but only became popular when it got incorporated to the American street culture, as well as the countercultural movements of hip hop and different urban tribes.

- Very elaborate, requires sketches and prior studies.
- They are increasingly in demand by businesses, town halls and institutions.

- Public slogans, political messages, sometimes satirical or rude trying to give a message to the masses.
- They are also protest graffiti.
2.3 LATRINALIA
- They are mostly colloquial texts or short phrases often seen in urban furniture like bathroom, train stations… etc.
- They could be love confessions, threats, complaints or even attempts at poetry and stories.

- Starting from graffiti, his style fuses classic drawing, painting and poetry, inspired by comics, animation and Arabic calligraphy.
- He is the pseudonym of a British graffiti artist.
- His identity is unknown.
- His works are full of sarcasm and anti-system criticism.
- They pay hundreds of thousands of euros for them, while the majority can see them for free on the streets of the most important cities.
- He was an artist and social activist whose job reflected the spirit of the pop generation and the street culture of New York in 1980.
- Birth, death, love, sex, war, are recurring themes in his works.
