Lesson Visits
Our observation process for this year has changed and we will now be referring to observation as "Lesson Visits." The visits will be ungraded in order to encourage a more reflective and developmental approach. You will be visited by your HoC and you will be inviting them in to a lesson chosen by you. Please think about the area you had to develop last year and aim to invite them into a session where you are working on that aspect of your teaching.
What you will do
Sept-Nov
Phase 1 - Arrange a 20-30 minute lesson visit with your HoC
Nov-Feb
Phase 2 - Undertake CPD to work on your "one area to develop" arising from your lesson visit
Feb-May
Phase 3 - Arrange a follow-up 20-30 minute lesson visit with your HoC

How do we improve? - Reflection
"Reflective Teachers are the most effective within the profession. Those that fail to reflect (regularly) on their own pedagogy may be disaffected, lack the support to improve, or simply have never been given the framework required" Teacher Toolkit
Developing Your Own Reflective Skills
This resource provides you with some useful questions to ask yourself when reflecting on your lessons:
Task: Development
What was your area for development last year?
How are you intending to develop this area to move your teaching forward?
Using the CPD menu, how will you implement your development?
At this stage what impact do you think this will have on you and your learners?
Thank You
