WHY TAKE THE PSAT 8/9?

WHAT IF I DON'T WANT TO GO TO COLLEGE?

• The PSAT 8/9 is a practice PSAT and SAT exam.
• The SAT is an entrance exam used by most colleges and universities to make admissions decisions.
• The purpose of the SAT is to measure a high school student's readiness for college, and provide colleges with one common data point that can be used to compare all applicants

• You might change your mind about college and your scores remain valid for 5 years
• Some jobs require it!
• This doesn't just apply to test prep jobs, either; this requirement pops up in consulting and finance-related jobs, too. And, according to the Wall Street Journal, it's getting more common.

• Click on New User Sign Up in the top right.
• Enter in your name and email address.
• Create your username and password.
• Click on Register.
• Click Improve Your Score, then College Prep, then PSAT.

• Log into the ReadyHub
• Click on Khan Academy
• Once you are signed in, go to Courses
• Go to Test Prep
• Click on Digital SAT
• Select that you are taking the test in the U.S.
• Select 2024

• Click on Sign In/Register in the top menu
• Click the "Sign in with Google" button to connect your Google account OR the Register button to enter in your name, email, and password
• You can use your school email OR personal email.
• Click on "Prepare for College" to access PSAT and SAT prep materials

• Login using your GISD Google account.
• If prompted, select Sellers as your school.
• Go to Test Prep.
• Click on PSAT for PSAT test prep.
