ZEROBASEONE

ZEROBASEONE is a boy group with 9 members, formed by the MNET idol survival show "Boys Planet" The group had it's debut in 2023, the same year that the survival show was aired and it's considered a "monster rookie".

THE MEMBERS WERE VOTED BY THE PUBLIC

Boys Planet used a space theme: the two groups of contestants, K-Group and G-Group, acted as "planets" and the show's hosts were dubbed "Star Masters". Under the guidance of seven "Masters", contestants had to go through several rounds of evaluation, during which they had to show off their skills in singing, dancing, and rapping. After each round, the audience, known as "Star Creators", voted for their favorite trainees, determining the final debut line-up.

The name

ZEROBASEONE means "Starting from Zero, there are infinite possibilities from Zero."

Their fandom is called ZEROSE, which is a combination of “zero” and “rose.” Kim Ji Woong further described the meaning by explaining the link between ZEROSE and ZEROBASEONE’s shortened name ZB1, which is read in Korean as “ze-be-one.” Kim Ji Woong shared, “If you take ‘ze-be-one’ out of ZEROBASEONE, you’re left with ‘rose.’ So if you combine ZB1 with rose, you get ZEROBASEONE.

They are a temporary group, thus they will be active for 2.5 years, as was already said in the program

To undesrtand the concept of monster rookie is necessary to understand what is a rookie first.A rookie is a group that just debuted. So, a monster rookie is a group that, even though are new in the K-POP scene, are extremelly succesful and famous, with a great support from fans and the general public.
