AROUND THE WORLD IN EIGHTY DAYS

London

The next day Phileas embarks on a ship bound for Bordeaux and, since the captain does not want to stop in Liverpool, Fogg imprisons him and, after a fortuitous journey in which they are forced to burn parts of the same ship because the fuel has run out, they arrive in Ireland. Once they arrive, however, they discover that the ship to Liverpool has already left: the chances of arriving in London on time are drastically reduced.
