Gregor Mendel
After Crick's proposal of RNA transferrning data to build proteins. He experimented on the idea of codons derived from DNA to form proteins. He was the first to sequence the code.
He identified nuclein as a nucleic acid, gave it its name (Deoxyribonucleic acid) and isolated the 5 nucleotides.
He discovers the basic principles of genetics and coined the terms "reccessive", and "dominant".
Genome editing tool that edits genes by precisely cutting DNA and then letting natural DNA repair
Discover Chromosome Theory of Inheritance and that chromosomes are hereditary.
Discovers that the DNA is the "Transforming Principle". Which meant Genes were composed of DNA.
Used X-Ray diffraction and crystallography to capture the first photo of a DNA showing its Helical Structure.

Fredrich Miescher
Proposes a polynucleotide structure, proposed nucleotides were made of one out of four nitrogen bases, and sugar phosphate groups. He was also first to discover deoxyribose.
James Watson, Francis crick
Discovers that the number of Cytosine and Guanine is the same and the number of Adenine and Thymine are the same. He also discovers that the composition varies between species.
frederick Sanger
Discovers the Chromosome, which he called chromatin. First to describe in detail the process of cell division.
Identifies the "nuclein" inside white blood cells. He discovered there it was very high in phosphorous content.
Discovers identical twins have differences in their genetic makeup experimental evidence for the hypothesis that rare mutations in the genes will occur early and will be carried throughout their lifespan
Designs the first rapid DNA sequencing method. It could read the information inside any DNA molecule easily.
Used the photo Rosalind Franklin took (without credit) and proposed the double helix structure as we know today.
