Topics & Research
You can research an issue local to your community ORYou can choose a national topic (affecting the country)
- Ask yourself: What do I care about? What are my passions? What would I like to see changed? What would I like to see kept in place? What makes me angry when I see it in the news, and I want to do something about it?
- If you don't have any ideas, please reach out to me - I can provide you with a list of topics as a jumping off point.
I can be successful if…
- I know what an argument is.
- I can find a topic/issue that interests me and can take a clear stance on the topic/issue.
- I can cite words or phrases from the research, make inferences, and support one side of the argument.
- I can analyze and explain what the counterargument is.
- I can write a formal letter with an introduction, body, and conclusion.
