You must research your topic and find 2 pieces of evidence to support your stance

You must have an intro, middle, counter- argument, and conclusion

You will choose a topic or issue and write a letter to someone in support of or against this topic.

You can research an issue local to your community ORYou can choose a national topic (affecting the country)

• Ask yourself: What do I care about? What are my passions? What would I like to see changed? What would I like to see kept in place? What makes me angry when I see it in the news, and I want to do something about it?

• If you don't have any ideas, please reach out to me - I can provide you with a list of topics as a jumping off point.

• I know what an argument is.
• I can find a topic/issue that interests me and can take a clear stance on the topic/issue.
• I can cite words or phrases from the research, make inferences, and support one side of the argument.
• I can analyze and explain what the counterargument is.
• I can write a formal letter with an introduction, body, and conclusion.
