WHAT IS A HEALTHY DIET?

Types of processed food
When we go food shopping, we can find different types of food

NATURAL AND MINIMALLY PROCESSED FOOD

This is food with no added ingredients
  • It goes through simple processes such as cleaning, bottling, boiling , peeling, etc...
  • The processes prepare the food for the storage and consumption.
  • The food is no changed by the processes.

PROCESSED FOOD

This is natural or minimally processed food with other ingredients added to it.
  • Salt, sugar, oil or preservatives are examples of processed food.
  • The added ingredients can make the food taste better or make it last longer
ULTRA-PROCESSED FOOD
This is food that is made from other food.
  • The original food goes through an industrial process.
  • This process makes the food change a lot.
  • The final ultra-processed food looks very different from the original food.

What do I put on my plate?

A diet is the amount and type of food that a person eats every day. A healthy diet provides the nutrients our body needs. It is important to eat mainly natural or minimally processed food. Follow these recommendations:
Use vegetable oils such as olive oil. Avoid animal fats like butter.
Eat lots of fruits and vegetables every day. Whole pieces are better than juices and smoothies
Choose wholegrain bread, pasta and rice.
Eat pulses. They are very healthy food of plant origin. When we eat pulses, we can eat less food of animal origin.
It is better to eat chicken and fish than other types of food of animal origin. Eat less red meat and cold meat
Drink 1.5 to 2 litres of water a day. Do not replace it with other drinks.
Have eggs, milk and dairy products in moderation.

Do stretching exercises at the end.
Rest when you feel tired

Take care of our posture

Always sit with your feet flat on the floor and the back straight against the back of the chair
Use a backpack to carry your things. Adjust each shoulder strap to spread the weight
When washing at the sink, keep your back straight and your knees slightly bent.
When sleeping lie on your side or on your back. Rest your head on the pillow and bend your knees

The Healthy Eating plate
Good physical health means that our body works well without pain or difficulty when we do activities.
There are various services to treat our health problems: health centres, hospitals and emergency services.
Many professionals work in these places such as nurses, paediatricians, physiotherapists....
When we are healthy, we have good physical, mental and social health. We feel good.
1 What are the main reasons of childhood obesity?
2 Why is obesity bad for your health?
Food is everything we eat. Food provides us with materials to grow and repair tissues. We also get energy from food to carry out our daily activities such as running, reading and even sleeping?
Good social health means that we have good relationships with other people, such as family members or classmates.
Being healthy means not just eating anything. The food we eat must be healthy. The type and amount of food that we eat needs to be suitable for our age.
To look after ourselves we need to prevent damage to our health. Prevention involves taking steps to help us stay healthy.
Good mental health means that we are happy with ourselves and we can control our emotions well.
