FLOOD IN LIBYA

At 3am 14.09.23 a torrent unleashed by a powerful storm(called storm Daniel) burst 2 dams and hurtled down a seasonal riverbed that bisects the eastern city of Derna, washing multi-storey buildings into the sea with sleeping families inside.

Floods impact the world in negative ways such as threatening lives, inundate properties and businesses, destroy belongings,health risk due to water contamination, crop destruction, damage vital infrastructure and prevent access to essential public services.

The flood in Derna does not impact Spain. But Spain has donated 1 million euros to help with aid in derna. Jose Manuel Albares (Minister of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation of Spain) said "Spanish solidarity is also present in Libya,"
