Question 1/5
A DAY IN THE LIFE: AS A MEMBER OF THE DEAF COMMUNITY
Good morning! It's 8 a.m. and your day has just begun. How did you wake up?
My alarm was set to ring.
I have to set it on top volume to wake me up!
My alarm was set to vibrate.
Feeling my alarm going off helps to wake me up!
I have to rely on my inner-alarm clock.
As a person who is deaf, there are no options for me.
Correct!
As a person who is deaf, you can't hear an alarm clock ring — even if it's on top volume. But you do have another option! Set the alarm clock to vibrate and you can feel it going off.

Question 3/5
A DAY IN THE LIFE: AS A MEMBER OF THE DEAF COMMUNITY
You made it to your job! Now, how do you perform these various tasks? Go through each of these in order:
Greet your coworkers.
I want to say "hi" to everyone!
Stay on top of notifications.
There's so much work for me to do today!
Make a phone call.
Phone calls are part of the job.
As a person who is deaf, you can still communicate with others! You can do this through sign language (perhaps occasionally with the help of an interpreter), written words, simple gestures (like a hand wave) or — in some cases — speaking. You may be able to lip-read and understand spoken responses!

Question 4/5
A DAY IN THE LIFE: AS A MEMBER OF THE DEAF COMMUNITY
It's been a long day! You've made it back home from work and are ready to relax with a movie. What do you do first?
Set the language to "Audio Description."
This will help me understand the movie!
Turn on subtitles.
I can read what people are saying in the movie!
Forget about watching a movie.
Watching movies are only for people who can hear.
Correct!
As a person who is deaf, watching a movie is a different experience from that of someone who is hearing; but that doesn't mean movies aren't for you! Subtitles allow you to read the sounds and spoken dialogue in a movie.

Subtitles allow you to read the sounds and spoken dialogue in a movie. "Audio Description," on the other hand, allows those who are blind or have low vision to hear what they cannot see.
