What is the Probationary Period
A Probation Period at Zen is a six month span of time at the beginning of employment during which we assess the individual's suitability for the role and Zen. It's important that during this period, there is a plan in place to support the individual with their induction into Zen and training is organised to support them in role and help them to thrive. If you are unsure as to what training is available please reach out to the People Development team.
The purpose of a probation period is to evaluate the individual's;
Performance within the role
Behaviour
Compatibility within the company's culture and work environment.
How long should it last for?
At Zen, our Probation Periods typically last for six months. During this time it is important to hold regular reviews with the individual to gauge how they are performing in the role, any issues or struggles they are facing, and any additional support that they need to help them to succeed during this time. On occasion, we may extend the Probation Period should we need a longer period to asses the individual's performance. Reasons on why we may extend a Probation Period are detailed in section 5.
There may also be times when we end the Probation Period before six months and terminate the individual's employment. More information on the reasons why we may do this are detailed in section 6.
