STUDENTS
The Campanales public school is located in the town of Mijas Costa (Málaga). Currently, there are a total of one hundred and forty-four pupils in Pre-primary school and in Primary school, there are three hundred and twenty-five pupils. It is a center in an area in which inclusion is taken into account everyday since it has a very high ratio of students with specific educational support needs and, above all, it has a high number of ASD students.

FAMILIAS
The families, the AMPA (parents' association) are our fundamental support. They organize traditional activities such as Chestnut Day, Christmas (with a living nativity scene), where the Three Wise Men always surprise us with gifts. This year on Halloween we organised a passage of terror where all the pupils have enjoyed. Another important day for us is the day of our region (Andalusia) where we give out bread with oil to the entire school, made with love.Families and AMPA are key in this community and we thank them for always being helping us.

ERASMUS+
We are a reference center in terms of the inclusion of ASD pupils. Our project tries to promote inclusion, the use of digital tools for an effective application in the classroom and, on the other hand, the development and dissemination of belonging to Europe.
The European program has been in our school for more than 30 years. We started with commenius and currently we have the accreditation until 2027. Our students and teachers have visited France, Malta, Italy, Finland, Bursa in Turkey, Poland, Germany, Latvia, Vienna... ALL OVER EUROPE!

Bike workshop
The pupils of our school are very lucky because they participate in game fairs every year with different topics such as bike workshops, map-reading sports in Sierra de Mijas, hiking routes, etc… and this is possible thanks to the collaboration and coordination of the teachers and students in practice of the TECO and TAFAD program from the Sierra de Mijas high school.
THEATER
The sixth grade pupils, directed by teacher Jose Luis, staged a play called “Trapped in the network” last year, where they told us about the need to educate in the right use of mobile phones and their applications because otherwise, the consequences could be very negative. Thanks for your job.
Peace Space School
The Peace Education Program has mindfulness, yoga and mediation as its fundamental axes. Every year, third cycle pupils carry on a mediation program which takes place during recess hours. This pupils help their school mates to solve conflicts through active listening and they try to advice them and provide effective tools to solve the problem and reach to an agreement. During several years, the month of January has been dedicated to working on yoga postures, relaxation techniques, and meditation. Sixth graders teach these techniques to the rest of pupils.

The library is the link between the entire school. It has been in operation for more than a decade. The activities organized by the library coordinator are diverse. Book loans for all the pupils in the school. At recess time pupils can read both inside the library and outside.Reading relationships where the older pupils teach and read to the younger ones during a week. Book market, literacy contests, traveling suitcases, reading itinerary and an endless number of activities. We would like to congratulate the coordinator for his great work.

EQUALITY PLAN
Last year the equality plan received an award for the podcast “The violet voice". Through this postcast they gave a voice to the women. The city council recognized their work on Working Women's Day. The coordinator and sixth-grade pupils made a great team and they deserved this recognition.
Pupils from our school enjoyed a dog show to show solidarity with an association, in order to obtain support for the dog-assisted therapy sessions for boys and girls with special needs. “Children are asked to donate 2 euros to the association, which is an organization that provides therapy with pets for children with special needs who need these therapies. Through this action teachers try to teach values to the pupils and not only about caring for pets but also values of solidarity,” said the Councilor for Education, Mariló Olmedo. And what boy and girl doesn't like spending time with dogs? Studies demonstrate that they are among their favourite pets at that age, which is why dog-assisted therapy in people with special needs continues to gain ground due to its proven effectiveness, a therapy that, due to its high cost, requires the contribution of everyone and was the initiative that they carried out at the Lagunero school, a dog show for all students in order to raise funds, commented the tutor of the specific classroom for students with autism Carmen Camero. They have multiple benefits, which is to interact with others, to create a link between them. We also encourage families to make a voluntary contribution to continue on this way.
Autism day
April 2 is Autism Day. Our center has a high TEA student body.
Popular games party
For more than 20 years, the Campanales school pupils have been participating, coordinated by the physical education teachers together with the sixth grade students, and have been organizing the traditional popular games party, updated with new activities every year. Last year, we changed the way in which we used to create the groups and, for the first time, Preschool and primary school pupils were mixed in groups of different ages. A great challenge that we have repeated again this year.
