INTERACTION
Let the communication flow!
Within a classroom there will always be interaction mainly because we are social beings. This interaction can be positive or negative, but it is always enriching because through the different situations students develop their ability to interact with each other. We also need to consider that the interaction can have several directions. This means that we can find it between pupil and pupil but also between teacher and pupil and vice versa.
OPPORTUNITIES TO INTERACT
give the chance!
The way in which children learn to interact and form relationships is a result of, among other things, opportunities to do so. Lots of opportunities are necessary to develop the interactional skills
This is why it is necessary to move education towards a model that addresses these needs of learners so that they can create the necessary tools for positive interaction.
SPRinG (Social Pedagogic Research into Group-work)
It is a programme that applies group work across the curriculum and over the school year. An effective group work has enormous potential in terms of increasing children's motivation and learning. It is in this type of programme it is shown whether or not students have been nurtured with good social tools. In other words, efficient teamwork is nurtured by several factors, including interaction. If children are taught previously, they will be able to create very efficient working groups.
DOES IT INFLUENCE THE ACADEMICS?
It has been proved that pupils who have difficulties in their relations with peers, and tend to be rejected by them, experience academic difficulties. In other words, the social aspect not only influences pupils in terms of their personal relationships but is also reflected in their school performance.
MULTICULTURALISM AND DIVERSITY
Whithout any barriers
A school open to the community means involving all institutions, organisations and community groups in the design of educational projects twhere everyone participates and development is favoured in different contexts.Healthy interaction between pupils should be promoted at school in order to avoid any kind of discrimination. In this way a relationship of respect is formed, which is very enriching for learning about other cultures and customs, among others.
