Reflection:
After researching a variety of accounting careers, I now can recognize that a degree in accounting can give someone a broad range of job opportunities. Being an accountant could mean that you work with the FBI, like an FBI agent specializing in accounting, or it couuld mean that you work with actors and musicians, like a corporate entertainment accountant. Furthermore, becoming a CPA also would come with a variety of responsibilities and opportunities totally different from those of accountants.
Prior to this project, I just assumed all accountants worked for firms and helped people manage their taxes. However, accounting has many diverse path and play an important role in managing finances, detecting fraud and errors, and aiding in decision making. Accounting fields can vary from forensic accountants investigating tax fraud to sports accountants working with athletic organizations. A degree in accounting can lead to numerous job opportunities all with different responsibilities.
