About Afghanistan
Afghanistan is located in South and Central Asia. Since 2021, Afghanistan has been controlled by the Taliban. The Taliban believes that all women should not have rights and enforce laws that are against women.

My chosen SDG is "Acheive gender equality & empower all women and girls". In some countries, women are expected to stay in the kithcen & clean/cook all day long. Women and older girls are forced to wear longer clothing in public and can't go places w/o a male. Achieving this SDG will let all women and girls be free & equal to other men and boys.
Afghanistan is under total control of the Taliban. The Taliban has restricted the rights of women. The Taliban sees women as homemakers and men as the main income earners. they have excluded women from all types of jobs and don't let them travel without being with a male.
Gender inequality in Afghanistan should be solved because:
- makes development stronger and more sustainable
- prevents sexual and domestic violence against women and girls
- helps the economy by putting more women in the workplace
Possible Solutions:
- schools for girls/higher education
- workplaces for women
- legal protection for girls/women
Countries that could benefit:
- South Sudan, Chad, D.R Congo etc...
Research Plan
Did you know?...

- lack of access to healthcare and education
- in 86 countries, women face some sort of job restriction
- in some countires countries, they don't guarantee equal pay for equal work
- women only have three quarters of the legal rights men have
Advocacy Campaigns

- these websites have merch that support their campaign
- usually directed towards girls, women, and/or people in power
