Univeristy of Gastronomic Sience

Founded in 2004, UNISG offers unique study programs that combine theory and practice, with a multidisciplinary approach encompassing culture, history, food science and sustainability. The main building of the University is located in the beautiful complex of Pollenzo, an ancient medieval village and a fascinating place that offers the opportunity to explore the history and culture of Italian gastronomy.

The Antica Fattoria of Pollenzo is an unmissable destination for lovers of history, architecture and good food. This ancient estate, built in 1833 by King Charles Albert of Savoy, has been transformed into a tourist institution offering a variety of cultural experiences. One of the points of interest of the Farm is the Pollenzo Castle, which houses a luxury hotel, a starred restaurant and a wine shop with a vast selection of local wines. The castle, with its neo-Gothic architecture, offers a magnificent view of the surrounding Piedmontese hills.

Pollenzo Castle is one of the main tourist atrractions in the area. This ancient castle, dating back to the medieval age, offers visitors the the opportunity to immerse themselves in history and admire Renaissance architecture. The Wine Bank is an unmissable tourist attraction located in Pollenzo. This innovative food and wine center is located inside the Castello di Pollenzo, an ancient village dating back to 1835. The Wine Bank is a true paradise for wine lovers, with a wide selection of fine Italian wines from different wine regions of the country. Its main objective is to promote and preserve the excellence of Italian wine. Inside the structure you can explore the rich history and culture of Italian wine through interactive exhibitions and displays. You will also be able to participate in guided tastings and training course, where you can learn to recognize the different characteristics of italian wines and taste them in the correct way.

Moorish Bridge

This stucture was built by Carlo Alberto in the 19th century during works on the Royal Estate of Pollenzo. The wooden bridge was destroyed during the IIWW and the surviving brick arches are currently in a state of total abandonment. A turist commented on a post the state of the arches and the enviromental council responded positively. To date, it seems that two existing pylons are capable of supporting the attachmentens of the deck: it is therfore necessary to have a desing indication to connect the two pylons.

Many people would say that a tour in Vespa is the best way to travel throgh Roero, Langhe and Monferrato hills and... that's right! It's the most recomended way to travel for those who wants to taste Piedmont, its typical foods and landscapes in a traditional and peculiar way.
