  • Most of the lexical / grammar contents in the school syllabus are in the textbook.
  • That notwithstanding, it does not mean that all the contents to be studied during the course will be there.

MATRÍCULA FORMATIVA (AUDITING STUDENTS):

  • This implies studying a course in which you have already obtained a certificate // you passed (obtained 5 or above in all the language activities, but didn't get a certificate in the level you studied).
  • You are not entitled to do the final exam, you'll just audit the lessons.

  • There are 5 language skills:
  • PCTE (Producción y Coproducción de Textos Escritos: Writing)
  • PCTO (Producción y Coproducción de Textos Orales)
  • CTO (Comprensión de Textos Orales)
  • CTE (Comprensión de Textos Escritos)
  • MED (Mediación de Textos Orales y Escritos)

ASSESSMENT

  • In order to pass, you need:
  • 50% in all the language skills (you can enroll in C2, but you won't get the C1 certificate)
  • 65% average mark (you'll get the C1 certificate)
  • If you pass all the language skills but for one, you can enroll in C2 (but you won't get the C1 certificate)

Fast forward

After class observation / initial evaluation test, the teacher can recommend the student move forward.
  • The teacher will fill in a form recommending a student move to a further level.
  • This document must be signed by both the teacher and the student, and eventually by the Head of Studies.
  • The student will be notified about the change to a different level and the new group they belong to.
  • Students with a B2 certificate from EOI will only move forward (initially, there's no way to take a walk down memory lane, but there are some options out there...).

  • Talking through your strengths and weaknesses.
  • Opening up and talking about the state of your learning.
  • Where you were at the beginning of the course and where you are right now.
  • Advice on how to overcome your barriers.
  • Stating your goals for the future and how you hope to achieve them in manageable, discrete steps.
