Boolean algebra
Boolean algebra is a branch of algebra. It is used to analyze and simplify the digital circuits. It uses only the binary numbers 0 and 1. It is also called as Binary Algebra or logical Algebra.
+ info
SHould there be a street in ireland named after him?
Yes, because he was a great mathematician and his algebra is very importan in computing today. If he had a street I think it should be in Cork, since he worked there until his death.
In Boolean algebra the values of the variables are the truth values true and false, usually denoted 1 and 0, and it uses logical operators such as conjunction (and) denoted as ∧, disjunction (or) denoted as ∨, and the negation (not) denoted as ¬. Boolean algebra is a formal way of describing logical operations, in the same way that elementary algebra describes numerical operations.
Boolean algebra is indispensable for modelling electronic circuits because an electronic device is made up of a number of circuits and each circuit can be designed by applying the rules of Boolean algebra.
