Simple past

-What did you do yesterday? -I went to the store

What is it used for?

It is used to talk about things that happened or existed before now.

Example:Imagine that someone asks you what did you do this weekend. You could answer: I went to the mall.

How to form the simple past?

  1. For regular verbs, we add ed to the root (at the end of the word)
If the word already ends with an e we just add dFor example: -Play: played _Listen: listened -Love: loved
