Food and Wine
In France:
France is famous for fresh, naturally and produced ingredients. Wine, cheese, olive oil and seasonal vegetables are just a few staples. Herbs and spices are also important to French cuisine and can contribute a depth of flavor to otherwise subtle dishes. They enjoy variuous foods, including meats, fish, vegetables, fruits, bread, cheeses and wine.
The Frenchs have come up with amazing and unique techniques like flambeing, braising, poaching, and sautéing. These add an incredible burst of texture and flavor to meats, vegetables, and other ingredients.
Eating Habits
In France, food is taken seriously and not eaten in the go or in large quantities. Meals are consistent at the same every day. They have a balanced diet consisting in all food groups. They have always stuck to three meals a day and generally don´t do food outside these set meals. Adults generally don´t snack, but childrens usually have a small snack after school.

In France, a brasserie is a type of French restaurant with a relaxed setting, which serves single dishes and other meals. (The word brasserie is also French for "brewery" and, by extension, "the brewing business"). A bistro is defined as a small, casual restaurant with a relatively inexpensive, simple menu. Though often a French restaurant, it doesn't have to be, and not every bistro serves French food

French restaurants today are usually in one of three categories: the bistro, or brasserie, a simple, informal, and inexpensive establishment; the medium-priced restaurant; and the more elegant grand restaurant, where the most intricate dishes are executed and served in luxurious surroundings.
More elegant grand restaurant: France is the country with the highest number of restaurants awarded with one or more Stars, for a total of 556 restaurants. This country boasts one of the most famous culinary traditions in the world and the French cuisine has always been synonymous with fine dining.

About it:
- La ratatouille est un ragoût de légumes à base de courgettes, d'aubergines, de poivrons rouges et jaunes, de tomates et d'oignons. Vous pouvez ajouter d'autres légumes.
- La ratatouille est originaire des régions niçoise et provençale de France. Son nom officiel français est Ratatouille Niçoise.
- Il est apparu pour la première fois comme une solution à la faim, inventé par des agriculteurs pauvres de la Provence du XVIII siècle. Les paysans français cuisinent les restes de légumes pendant des heures pour créer un ragoût copieux et rugueux.
