Curriculum will launch August 28,2023

Small Business Certification

After curriculum launch (August 28, 2023), the Block Advisors Small Business Certification can be accessed in Block Academy. You can use the search feature or check your Suggested Training. Curriculum access is granted based on individual Tax Pro Eligibility. Your eligibility is determined based on your current H&R Block Certification level and your FY23 Small Business Certification Status.

For FY24, the Block Advisors Small Business Certification Curriculum will be consolidated into a 1-part curriculum.

• Continuing Education (CE) has been removed from the curriculum
• New and Renewing Tax Pros will experience the same curriculum
• We will leverage an interactive Case Study in Block Academy to validate tax return proficiency. The Case Study will include a 15-question test
• Minimum passing score of 80%
• Maximum of 3 attempts
• Paid training will NOT include Virtual sessions and will be self guided modules
• Program will have 1 deadline which will be January 15th

• If you are new to Small Business Certification, you will only have access to the Standard Block Advisors Small Business Certification.
• If you are renewing your Small Business Certification, you will initially be granted access to the curriculum associated with the highest level you previously achieved. Standard OR Advanced Block Advisors Small Business Certification Part 1.
• Tax Pros desiring to increase from Standard to Advanced, must successfully complete the Standard Case Study before gaining access to the Advanced Case Study
